Top 5 Trailers (no.3)

The first scene captures the target audience of a typical teenage chick flick by juxtaposing the traditional lady like women with the elegant outfits, classical music and a rich looking house with the main character being quite tom-boy like without manners shown by her eating chicken of the bone with her hands and then in the next scene holding a football. The trailer also contains a voice over to clarify the background of the main character with humorous exaggerated comments such as "a fate worse than death." The music builds up the tension along with the voice over, the trailer also shows a famous actor Channing Tatum topless which would be appealing to teenage girls. The trailer then contains text explaining which character fancies each other making you want to watch to see how the story unfolds and who will end up with who which is a typical teenage movie storyline.  The clips shown are also funny making you want to watch it more for example when she is pretending to be a boy and hugs the guy making it awkward, or when she is trying to shave, and got kicked with the football. The effective use of small clips increases the pace and teenage girls would love to go and see it because it contains teenage love stories.

Top 5 Trailers (no.2)

This trailer starts with reminding the audience of the character from the previous film and uses slow motion to capture the extreme dance move. There is also music which gives the trailer a beat reflecting the dance genre. The scenes are also broken up by writing asking a rhetorical question to the audience and then explaining which character is which. There is also humor which makes you want to watch more. It also contains a famous song "church" by T-Pain which captures the teenage audience. The clips shown also reveal dance moves which look complicated and exciting making the audience want to watch.  The scenes are also intensified when they are broken up by the writing with heart beat like song to increase tension. The dialogue also suggest a love story between the two main characters which again captures the teenage audience.

Top 5 Trailers (no.1)

I really like this trailer due to many reasons. The music increases tension and makes the pace quicken creating dramatic tension. The clips rapidly cut between each other also helping to quicken the pace. The trailer is also broken up by writing with a car noise reinforcing the genre. The trailer has many cliff hangers which makes the audience want to go and watch it. The scenes contain alto of special effects such as fire, car chases, gun fire, action cases, police cars flipping. The films main audience is young males and they have achieved this through fading in from black and slowing down the pace around the clip with the girls around the cars and the camera focusing on their legs. The trailer also includes a small clip of a girl removing clothing to reveal a bikini.  The dialogue also gives hints of what to expect however they don't link together so the audience want to go and see it.

Introduction to project

This is my A2 media blog which will show my progress throughout my year 13 film coursework. I am firstly going to do a preliminary task to get used to the programmes I have never used before and investigate into existing trailers in order to inspire my own ideas.
