Top 5 Trailers (no.3)
The first scene captures the target audience of a typical teenage chick flick by juxtaposing the traditional lady like women with the elegant outfits, classical music and a rich looking house with the main character being quite tom-boy like without manners shown by her eating chicken of the bone with her hands and then in the next scene holding a football. The trailer also contains a voice over to clarify the background of the main character with humorous exaggerated comments such as "a fate worse than death." The music builds up the tension along with the voice over, the trailer also shows a famous actor Channing Tatum topless which would be appealing to teenage girls. The trailer then contains text explaining which character fancies each other making you want to watch to see how the story unfolds and who will end up with who which is a typical teenage movie storyline. The clips shown are also funny making you want to watch it more for example when she is pretending to be a boy and hugs the guy making it awkward, or when she is trying to shave, and got kicked with the football. The effective use of small clips increases the pace and teenage girls would love to go and see it because it contains teenage love stories.
